CAGT’s mission is to “foster an understanding of all gifted children and their exceptional needs, and advocates for appropriate education and affective support through partnerships with educators, families, students, administrators, legislators, and the general public”. Providing scholarships to our educators, administrators, students and parents plays an essential role in achieving our mission.

The Colorado Scholarship for Diverse Talent Development
Scholarship Purpose: CAGT recognizes the vital role that educators play in identifying and developing gifts and talents in today’s diverse student body and is committed to developing leaders who can effectively advocate for historically underrepresented groups.

The primary purpose of the Colorado Scholarship for Diverse Talent Development is to increase culturally and linguistically diverse (CLD) students’ access to talent development opportunities through teacher training and support related to equity and excellence in gifted education.

Teachers of Color Scholarship
Scholarship Purpose: CAGT recognizes the crucial role that educators of color play in identifying and developing gifts and talents in today’s diverse student body and is committed to developing leaders who can effectively advocate for historically marginalized students, specifically those of color.

The primary purpose of this new Teachers of Color Scholarship is to increase engagement of educators of color in the field of gifted education by providing opportunities through teacher training and support related to equity and excellence in gifted education.

Leaders in Action Scholarship
Scholarship purpose: CAGT is proud to offer Leaders in Action, a scholarship designed to help current principals develop a stronger gifted program within their school. The Leaders in Action Scholarship was created to support current Colorado Principals interested in growing or strengthening his or her school’s GT program. Selected candidates will be partnered with a mentor and will attend this year’s CAGT conference.
Mental Health Support Scholarship
Scholarship Purpose: This scholarship is designed to engage our school psychologists, school counselors, school social workers and SEL Specialists in learning more about the social-emotional development of our gifted students and best practices in supporting their unique needs. 
The Mental Health Support Scholarship was created to bring mental health personnel interested in growing or strengthening their knowledge of gifted students, and how to better serve them, to CAGT’s annual conference.

Legislative Day Scholarship: This scholarship will support CAGT’s vision to help gifted children from across Colorado become well-adjusted, contributing members of society as they will experience firsthand how our legislative system works and motivate them to pursue a possible career in government. With our help and by partnering with our state legislators, students will get an enrichment experience they would not receive anywhere else.

This scholarship will sponsor two rural and two urban area students who do not have the funds to attend Legislative Day. It will cover the full cost of Legislative Day registration and fho live 90 miles or more from the Capitol CAGT will cover the cost of one night’s hotel room if needed (*must stay with a chaperone – parent or guardian).

The scholarship opens at the beginning of December and the application deadline is one week before the event.
