CAGT’s 21st Legislative Day was a huge success on Thursday, February 20th, 2020. With over 300 students and adults participating, and 75 students shadowing legislators, we had a great turn out and learned so much about current political topics that are important to gifted students and how to better advocate for gifted education in Colorado. Thank you to everyone who was a part of this important day for gifted students at the Capitol.
Legislative Day Information
Held the Thursday after Presidents’ Day each February, Legislative Day allows students (grades 8 – 12 ONLY) a unique opportunity to shadow a state legislator for the day. The application process opens the first week of January. There is also an adult component to the day, where gifted advocates have an opportunity to learn about current legislative initiatives that affect our gifted children.
