It is our 25th Anniversary!
CAGT’s 2024 Legislative Day is now open.

It’s hard to believe that our annual Legislative Day at the Capitol is celebrating its 25th year!  This unique event is always amazing and impactful! Our Legislative Committee creates a one of a kind experience for 9th-12th grade students who are passionate about issues facing their community, county, and our state. Usually close to 70 students are placed to shadow a legislator and experience the legislative process firsthand.

There are basically three components to this day:

1.  The student’s involvement shadowing a legislator,

2.  Q&A with various legislators from both sides of the aisle and

3.  the day ending with a closing Keynote speaker.

This event is NOT a field trip, but an individual experience for that certain student who is intrigued by the political system and is a craving a more up-close opportunity to experience a day in the life of a legislator. If you missed our 2023 event, or want to come back again, check below to get more information about the day, the criteria needed to apply and to register.
