Annual Conference, a two-day event for educators, administrators and parents.

Parent Institute, an evening with national experts and Q&A time.

Leadership Forum, a breakfast for Colorado educational leaders to network (Co-sponsored with the Colorado Department of Education).

Legislative Day, an opportunity for students to shadow state legislators and for advocates to learn.

Advocacy and Support

CAGT worked for an Endorsement for Gifted Education Teachers.

CAGT worked to include gifted 9th - 12th grade high school students in concurrent enrollment programs.

CAGT worked for a state-wide mandate for gifted students in Colorado schools.

CAGT worked for a policy which permits Administrative Units to admit Highly Advanced Gifted Children Early Access to kindergarten or first grade.

CAGT worked for language that separates Gifted Education law from Special Education Law.

CAGT worked for an Acceleration Policy encouraging Administrative Units to develop appropriate district-wide policies.

CAGT worked for additional state money for Qualified Personnel at the Administrative Unit/District level.

CAGT worked for additional state money for universal screening for all students by the end of second grade.

CAGT worked for portability for gifted identification across district boundaries.

CAGT worked to codify the State Advisory Committee for Gifted Education.

CAGT worked on a National level to restore funding for Jacob K Javits Gifted and Talented Students Education Program.

Professional Development

CAGT offers graduate credit for those completing the necessary requirement when attending the Annual Conference.

Local Networking and Educational Opportunities

CAGT supports our local Affiliates that provide programming and resources for families and educators. Networking opportunities are available both at affiliate meetings as well as at the Annual Conference. Coming soon is the Virtual Affiliate and your ability to connect with your peers online.
